How does my dog catch Parvovirus?
- Unvaccinated puppies, between six weeks and six months are particularly at risk.
- Parvovirus is easily spread and can be spread from dog to dog, faeces, vomiting or even through touching something, such as a feed bowl, that an infected dog has touched.
- Parvovirus can survive for a long time in the environment (up to 1 year) thus making the risk of infection greater.
Possible Symptoms of Parvovirus!
- Diarrhoea – This may be: bloody, watery and/or foul smelling.
- Sickness.
- Lethargy – This could be: Weak or lack of energy.
- Loss of appetite.
- Dehydration.
- Fever.
